As a first-year applicant to Youngstown State University, you will need to do the following:

• Submit your completed application.
• Waiving the $45 application fee for domestic applicants until December 15, 2024. 
• $75.00 application fee for international applicants.
• Have your school counselor send your official high school transcript.
• ACT and SAT scores are optional. (Please note: some majors do require test scores as a criteria to be admitted into the program.)
• No letter of recommendation or essays are required.

Once all the credentials have been submitted, it only takes less than 1 week to get your admission decision. However, during our business application time (November - February), it may take between 2-3 weeks for your decision. For more information, click here to check out our New Freshman web site.
