First-year

To apply to the Kent State University Kent Campus as a first-year freshman applicant, you should currently be in your senior year of high school, have earned a GED or equivalent, or have earned a high school diploma but have not been enrolled at a college or university (other than dual enrollment while in high school).

Your admission application can be submitted through the Common Application or the Kent State Application. The application fee is $50 for domestic applicants and $70 for international applicants.

Kent State University is test optional. We will carefully review each applicant based on cumulative grade point average (GPA), strength of high school curriculum, grade trends and special talents. In addition, we will consider standardized test scores if you choose to send them. We’re looking for students who are committed to succeed, inspired to lead and ready to make an impact on the world!

Transfer

By transferring to Kent State, we provide a new path and new possibilities. A transfer student is someone who was enrolled at another institution, technical or proprietary school after high school and is now applying to Kent State. Transfer students must apply through our online transfer student application and submit transcripts from each institution attended, regardless of credits earned or regional accreditation. Applicants with fewer than 12 semester hours of college coursework should also submit an official high school transcript.

I chose to attend Kent State because of its welcoming feel. Each and every person on campus is friendly and helpful... My education matters to me, and I know that it matters just as much to the staff here at Kent State as well.
