A first-year applicant is a current high school senior, a high school graduate with no post-secondary course work or the recipient of a GED applying for matriculated/degree-seeking status at Hofstra University. First-Year candidates may apply as Early Action or Regular Decision by completing Hofstra's First-Year Student Application for Undergraduate Admission or the Common Application. Hofstra University accepts transfer applications for the fall and spring semesters. Transfer applicants should complete Hofstra's Transfer Student Application for Undergraduate Admission or the Common Application. Transfer candidates are considered on a "rolling basis." While there is no deadline for applications, students are encouraged to apply early. Each year Hofstra enrolls almost 1,000 new transfers. Scholarships and Financial Aid
Hofstra University has established multiple scholarship programs to reward students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement in high school. Hofstra is committed to providing you with an affordable, high-quality education. In fall 2024 we awarded $61 million to first-year students, and a total of $168.5 million in institutional gift assistance was awarded to all entering undergraduate students.
